Zaporizhzhia frontline escalates: three villages lost, two under attack

Russian occupation forces managed to advance in the Zaporizhzhia sector and seize three settlements. At the same time, exhausting battles continue for two more villages – Rivnopillia and Yablukove. This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi on Facebook, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Active defense and heavy fighting
According to Syrsky, Ukrainian forces continue to conduct active defense in most areas, repelling enemy attacks and conducting search and strike operations in the areas of Kupyansk and Siversk.
At the same time, the Russian army has increased its activity in Zaporizhzhia region, trying to advance deeper into Ukrainian positions under the cover of thick fog.
“The aggressor has also increased its activity in Zaporizhzhia region. They use weather conditions – thick fog – to infiltrate between our positions. The situation has deteriorated significantly in the Oleksandrivka and Huliaypillia directions, where the enemy, taking advantage of the numerical superiority in forces and means, advanced in fierce fighting and captured three settlements,” said the Commander-in-Chief.
Fighting continues for Rivne and Yablukove
Heavy fighting continues in certain areas, including Rivne and Yablukove. The military group “South” is holding the defense there, inflicting significant losses on the enemy with combined fire.
“The soldiers of the “South” military grouping are fighting exhausting battles for Rivne and Yablukove. Appropriate support measures are being taken. Combined fire caused significant losses to the aggressor. Every meter of our land costs Russia hundreds of military lives,” said Syrsky.
Pokrovske is the hottest area
Syrsky emphasized that the most intense fighting is taking place in the area of Pokrovsk, where about 40% of all combat engagements take place. Russian troops regularly suffer heavy losses in this area.
Only in the operational area of the “South” military grouping over the past three days, the occupiers have lost about 800 people and more than a hundred pieces of various military equipment.
Ukraine intensifies the use of long-range weapons
Oleksandr Syrsky also noted that Ukraine is increasing the effectiveness of the use of long-range weapons of its own production, including Neptune and Flamingo missiles and jet drones.
“The Ukrainian army continues to improve its means of destruction, which allows it to destroy enemy logistics, equipment and ammunition depots more effectively,” the Commander-in-Chief emphasized.
