Umerov’s deputy Havryliuk dismissed from his post

The government has dismissed First Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Havryliuk from his post. The decision was made at a government meeting on April 18, [Komersant] reports.
What did the lieutenant general say?
Earlier, the lieutenant general himself said in a commentary to Suspilne that he was resigning of his own free will, but he did not give details of his decision.
Before that, journalist and member of the Public Anti-Corruption Council (PAC) at the Defense Ministry Tetyana Nikolayenko claimed that Havryliuk might resign because of a conflict with Minister Rustem Umerov.

After the dismissal of his first deputy, Umerov himself issued a statement thanking him for his work “in an extremely difficult period”, which helped “ensure stability in one of the key areas of the ministry’s activities”.
The minister also assured that Havryliuk remained in the ministry’s team. He promised to announce his new area of responsibility soon.
What do you know about Ivan Havryliuk?
Ivan Havryliuk is a native of Zhytomyr region and a career military officer. He has worked his way up from platoon commander of a security battalion to senior management positions.
From 2013 to 2014, Havryliuk was the chief of the rear of the army corps department, and later the chief of the rear of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. From 2018 to 2020, he was the head of the Main Logistics Directorate – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In 2020, he was discharged from military service in the reserve. From 2020 to 2022, he worked as an advisor to the Commander of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
on February 24, 2022, he was enlisted for military service during mobilization and appointed Head of the Communications and Information Systems Department of the Headquarters of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In April-August 2022, he was the head of the Ukrainian working group at the coordination center for assistance in Germany.
From September 2022 to October 2023, Havryliuk was Deputy Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Defense. In the same year, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Defense, and on May 17, 2024, he was appointed First Deputy.
The Minister of Defense noted that the most important tasks for Havryliuk are the development of the Defense Forces’ weapons and military equipment, the re-profiling of the Ukrainian defense industry to NATO nomenclature, and close cooperation with partner countries.
