Train delays in Chernihiv region: what is known and how it will affect passengers

21 October 00:36

In Chernihiv region, there are massive delays in suburban trains due to the lack of sufficient voltage in the power grid. This temporarily complicates the schedule and affects the time of arrival of passengers at their destination. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the Telegram “Ukrzaliznytsia: Suburban trains”.

According to Ukrzaliznytsia, delays currently range from 30 minutes to more than an hour.

Passengers are urged to closely monitor announcements at stations and in the company’s official channels, as the situation can change quickly.

Which trains are delayed: current list

  • Train #6857 Chernihiv – Slavutych departed from Zhukotky station with a delay of 37 minutes.
  • Train #6312 Chernihiv – Nizhyn departed from Borys Oliynyk station with a delay of 55 minutes.
  • Train #6311 Nizhyn – Chernihiv departed from Muraviyka station with a delay of 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Representatives of the railroad note that the time of delays may vary, as it depends on the stabilization of the voltage in the network.

Why did the voltage problem arise?

The main reason is power fluctuations and emergency restrictions in the grid that resulted from Russian attacks on energy infrastructure.

Work is underway to restore electricity supply in the region, but the situation remains unstable.

What passengers should do: tips

Arrive at the station in advance, even if you expect a delay – the departure time may be changed.

Listen to announcements at stations and check the information in the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application.

Plan transfers with enough time to spare, as the schedule of other trains may also change.
