Ukraine’s national team is one step away from winning the World Cup of Hockey

Ukraine’s national men’s ice hockey team has won its fourth victory in Division I of the World Championship. Ukraine defeated Spain with a score of 6:1, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
The Ukrainians fired 41 shots at the Spanish goal, while the Spaniards made 12 shots.
After this victory, Ukraine leads the championship standings with a maximum of 12 points from 4 matches.
Lithuania is in second place with 9 points, but it has played one less match. Today, the Lithuanians will play China. Regardless of the outcome of this match, the fate of the entire championship will be decided in the match between Ukraine and Lithuania. If Ukraine wins, it will become the winner of the World Cup in its division.
The Lithuania-Ukraine match will take place on 3 May at 19:30. Ukraine’s head coach Dmytro Khrystych said he expects the ice to be of good quality, as there were problems with it at the championship.
“I am worried that the quality of the ice will not be the same. We’ll be preparing for the last fight,”

The World Ice Hockey Championship in Division 1B is taking place in Lithuania and will last until 3 May. The team that takes first place in the group will play in Group A of Division I at the next World Championship. Only the Top Division is higher than Group A. Thus, Ukraine is currently competing in the third strongest division of the World Cup and has a good chance of qualifying for the second division.
