The Cabinet of Ministers has made three important decisions for the development of green energy. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the The Ministry of Energy Of Ukraine.

Firstly, the government approved the National Renewable Energy Action Plan for the period up to 2030 and an action plan for its implementation. According to it, the share of renewables in gross final energy consumption in 2030 will be 27%.

Secondly, the Cabinet of Ministers set an additional annual support quota for business entities that produce electricity from renewable energy sources for 2024, and approved a schedule for pilot auctions for the distribution of the support quota for 2024. The additional annual support quota has been set at 110 MW, of which 11 MW is for solar power plants, 88 MW for wind farms, and 11 MW for other types of alternative energy sources.

“In the online auction system Prozorro.Sale, pilot green auctions for the distribution of the support quota for electricity producers from alternative sources will start in autumn. First of all, this will ensure the transparency of this process. Secondly, it will facilitate the transition to a new model of renewable energy support and attract investment in this sector of the economy. Investors will receive long-term guaranteed support, which will allow them to attract credit resources, create jobs and new generating capacities,” said Yulia Svyrydenko, First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine and Minister of Economy of Ukraine.

The first power generation facilities commissioned following the pilot auctions are expected to start supplying electricity to the grid in 2025.

In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers and the relevant ministry approved the terms of the tender for the construction of generating facilities and demand management measures. According to them, it is planned to build 700 MW of facilities by 2027.
