Zelensky announces reshuffle in the Defense Ministry

Ukraine needs to take new steps in managing our country’s defense sector. Decisions on this will be made soon.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a statement by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Оn July 12 the Ukrainian president held a meeting with Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov. Afterwards, Zelensky hinted at personnel changes in state institutions.
“Ukraine needs more positive dynamics in its relations with the United States and at the same time, new steps are needed in the management of our country’s defense sector,” the president said.
He emphasized that the relevant decisions would be made public in the near future.
Recently, it became known that Ukraine’s Ambassador to the United States, Oksana Markarova, is leaving her post. In this context, active discussions have begun on who will succeed her.
President Zelenskyy suggested that the current Defense Minister Rustem Umerov could become the head of the Ukrainian embassy in Washington.
