President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy rejected the “Korean scenario” for ending the war with Russia and said that Kyiv should be provided with security guarantees until the end of hostilities. His words are quoted by UNIAN, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
The head of state was asked whether the “Korean scenario” of ending the conflict was being discussed and whether a ceasefire agreement could be signed without the signatures of Russia and Ukraine.
“It may be said rhetorically that there may be this or that scenario. But we have a different story than with Korea. There, it was about the end of the war without a final peace treaty. That’s what it was about. And this is to talk about security guarantees – why Ukraine needs security guarantees. It may happen that there will be no final document on the end of the war,” Zelensky said.
According to him, the ceasefire is enough to provide Ukraine with security guarantees. Kyiv cannot “waste time and wait” for a clear document on the end of the war, the president said.
“No one is considering the Korean, Finnish or other models. Because we have what we have. And no one knows what will happen in the end,” Zelensky said.
