Zelensky names the only way to end the war

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the cessation of hostilities is possible only after Ukraine receives clear security guarantees from its partners, including the United States. He said this in an interview with Sky News, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
He called on Trump to take “strong personal steps” to stop Vladimir Putin. According to Zelenskyy, the United States has enough resources to provide Ukraine with air defense systems, strengthen sanctions against Russia, and “make Putin afraid.”
He expressed hope that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer would discuss in detail with Trump during his visit how to secure Ukraine’s future.
The need for a clear position of the United States
The Head of State emphasized that a concrete document should be in place before the end of the war.
“Before we end the war, I really want all the agreements to be concluded. I want… to have a document that will be supported by the United States and all European partners. This is very important. For this to happen, we need a clear position from President Trump,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
According to the head of state, Trump can provide Ukraine with air defense systems in the required quantity because “the United States has enough of them.”
Criticism of the meeting in Alaska
Commenting on the summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin in Alaska, Zelenskyy said that the American president had conceded too much.
Zelenskyy added that if the meeting had been trilateral, with the participation of Ukraine, concrete results could have been achieved.
As you know, on September 4, French President Emmanuel Macron said that out of 35 countries in the coalition of the willing, 26 have already agreed to participate in security guarantees for Ukraine. This may include a presence on land, sea, and in the air, or providing support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces after the cessation of hostilities.
