President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the information about the breakthrough of Russian occupation troops near Dobropillia in the Pokrovsk sector. Speaking to journalists, the head of state noted that groups of Russians, without equipment, had advanced about 10 kilometers in several places, according to
According to the guarantor, the main goal of the Russians is to create an information background before the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin this week.
“Groups of Russians, without equipment, have advanced about 10 kilometers in several places. Some have already been found, partially destroyed, partially captured. We will also find and destroy others in the near future. The task of this advance is clear to us: by August 15 (the date of the meeting between Trump and Putin – ed.), we need to form a certain information background, especially in the American space, that Russia is advancing and Ukraine is losing territory,” Zelenskyy said.
The President clarified that the situation in Donbas is currently the most difficult for the Defense Forces. However, the Armed Forces are making progress in other areas. In particular, the Ukrainian army has advanced in Sumy region, where another 900 meters have been cleared and in some places the Armed Forces have reached the border with Russia. They also managed to advance one kilometer in Luhansk region.
“We believe they are preparing for an offensive in three directions. The main directions are Zaporizhzhia, Pokrovske and Novopavlivske (Dnipropetrovska oblast – ed.). We believe that an additional 15,000 (personnel – ed.) will be deployed to Zaporizhzhia, about seven thousand to Pokrovsk, and maybe five thousand more to Novopavlivka. We believe that they will do everything to prepare for offensive actions after the 15th,” Zelensky said.
Earlier, the Deepstate OSINT project recorded the occupiers’ advance in the northeast of Dobropillia, Donetsk region.
