President Volodymyr Zelenskyy will award the title of Hero of Ukraine to three Ukrainian servicemen. The relevant documents are already being prepared. The head of state said this in his evening address, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The fallen soldiers to whom the president will award this title are: pilot Dmytro Fisher, Azov soldier Nazariy Hryntsevych, and soldier of the 3rd Assault Brigade Vitaliy Karvatsky.

“We do not forget our fallen soldiers. We honor their memory and recognize them with state awards. I have just spoken about three such guys: military pilot Colonel Dmytro Fisher, Azov soldier Nazariy Hryntsevych, and Vitaliy Karvatskyi, a soldier of the Third Assault Brigade. The documents are being prepared for the title of Heroes of Ukraine, unfortunately, posthumously,” he added.

What is known about the soldiers

Pilot Dmytro Fisher was an ace of Ukrainian aviation who mastered five types of combat aircraft: Su-27, MiG-29, Su-25, Su-17 and L-39. He flew over 1400 hours. Fisher not only defended the sky, but also taught young colleagues, passing on his experience and patriotism.

In June 2022, Dmytro Fisher was killed during a combat flight over Zaporizhzhia. In March 2024, DNA testing confirmed his death. His Su-27 aircraft was shot down by Russian air defense during a complex combat mission.

Nazarii Hryntsevych was a serviceman of the National Guard of Ukraine, a defender of Mariupol and Azovstal, a former prisoner of war, and a platoon commander of the Contact 12 unit.

During the defense of Mariupol, Nazariy held the line at Azovstal for three months, where he celebrated his 19th birthday. After leaving the plant, he was taken prisoner by Russia and spent more than four months in a colony in the temporarily occupied territory.

on September 21, 2022, he was released as part of a prisoner exchange. After rehabilitation, he returned to the army and led a platoon of optical observers. on March 10, 2024, Nazariy turned 21 years old. Less than two months later, on May 6, he died.

Vitalii Karvatskyi was a native of Dnipro, a graduate of the Faculty of History at Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (2021).

In March 2022, he voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he became a rifleman with the 125th separate terrorist defense brigade of Lviv.

In May 2023, Karvatskyi released a video of a burning car that was handed over to the military by volunteers. According to him, the car was destroyed by a grenade explosion, probably with the participation of the then commander of the 215th TRO battalion, Andriy Selekhman. The battalion initiated an internal investigation. In addition, the Security Service of Ukraine began to study the circumstances of the incident.

Later, Karvatskyi was transferred to the third assault brigade, where he worked with FPV drones.

Karvatskyi was killed on June 11, 2025, during the fighting in the Kharkiv sector.
