Zelenskyy imposes sanctions on Russian drones: manufacturers from Russia, Belarus and China are on the list

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has enacted a new package of sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine against 55 defense companies linked to the Russian military industry, as well as 56 individuals. This is stated in decree No. 415, published on June 20, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The sanctions list includes both Russian and Belarusian and Chinese companies involved in the development, production or supply of drones and their components. Among them are LLC SPE DroneTech, Intel-Drone, and DroneTech.

The sanctions also affected aviation companies, including Aviation Industry, Aeroelectromash, and Polyus Research Institute. The latter conducts research in the field of aviation for the needs of the military-industrial complex.

Some of the companies operate in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. For example, Archangel LLC, which specializes in the production of FPV drones and training of UAV operators, has set up a network of training centers in more than 20 cities in Russia and in the TOT, including Melitopol. These activities are supported by a Kremlin-controlled foundation.

The President’s Office said that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine should inform the EU, the US and other international partner states about the new restrictions and urge them to impose similar sanctions. Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that the sanctions policy should be as coordinated as possible:

“The sanctions packages of the European Union and other global actors must also be fully confirmed by the national sanctions decisions of Ukraine.”

This step is another element in the strategy of putting pressure on the Russian military machine, which aims to limit its access to critical technologies, in particular in the field of drones and aviation
