President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has rejected the possibility of withdrawing Ukrainian troops from the territory of Donetsk region, as demanded by the Russian side.
He said this during a video message published on his Telegram channel, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“We will not give anything to Russia,” the head of state said.
According to Zelenskyy, he discussed with the head of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine certain steps at the front and long-range strikes against Russia. As he emphasized, the Ukrainian army regularly attacks Russian oil industry facilities.
On October 19, The Washington Post reported, citing sources, that Russia demanded that Ukraine give up Donetsk region. According to the newspaper, this demand was made by Russian dictator Vladimir Putin during a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump.
The journalists claim that the Ukrainian delegation in Washington was pressured to hand over the entire territory of Donbas to Russia. The article also says that in exchange, Ukraine will allegedly receive parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. The Kremlin has not yet commented on this information.
