Zelensky invited Trump to visit Ukraine: what is known

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that he has invited US President Donald Trump to visit Ukraine. Such a visit, according to the head of state, could be an important step to support a peace agreement to end the war that Russia is waging against Ukraine. Zelensky said this in an interview with the American edition of Axios, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Negotiations with representatives of the US administration
The President noted that Kyiv continues to have active contacts with the current US administration to discuss possible ways of a peaceful settlement.
In particular, the talks involve:
- donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff;
- jared Kushner, son-in-law of the American president.
According to Zelenskyy, during the meetings, the parties are discussing new ideas for formats, timetables, and concrete steps that could bring real and sustainable peace closer, as well as details of the preparation of relevant documents.
Vitkoff and Kushner are ready to come to Ukraine
The Head of State clarified that Vitkoff and Kushner were directly involved in the negotiation process. They have already participated in meetings in Berlin and the United States, and are now ready to visit Ukraine.
Trump’s visit is possible
Separately, Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that he does not rule out Donald Trump’s visit to Ukraine. Such a visit, he said, could be a political signal of support for the peace agreement and efforts to end the war.
Earlier, the President of Ukraine had already announced a possible personal meeting with Donald Trump in the near future, without disclosing details about the format and location of the talks.
