During a telephone conversation, US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the possibility of Ukraine receiving Tomahawk missiles, Axios reports, citing sources, "Komersant Ukrainian".
According to them, the politicians talked for about half an hour. Zelenskyy congratulated his interlocutor on the peace agreement in the Gaza Strip and noted that if this war is put to an end, “then, of course, it will be possible to stop other wars,” including the war with Russia.
“I briefed President Trump on Russia’s attacks on our energy system, and I appreciate his willingness to support us. We discussed opportunities to strengthen our air defense, as well as specific agreements we are working on to ensure this,” Zelenskiy said.
Two days ago, Zelenskiy hinted that the United States could provide Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles. According to him, the American president “can give some long-range things.” Zelenskiy called this an important signal and noted that the missile deliveries could “make the Russians sober up.”
