Changes in the NBU management: Rozhkova replaced by Nikolaychuk

on August 15, the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine dismissed Kateryna Rozhkova from her position as First Deputy Governor of the NBU. Her place was taken by Serhiy Nikolaychuk, who had previously served as deputy head of the National Bank.

This was reported by the press service of the NBU, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.

According to the press service, Rozhkova resigned from her position due to the expiration of her term of office. She has been in the position since June 2018, and for the last two and a half years she has been responsible for the Financial Stability Unit.

Sergiy Nikolaychuk has been working in the NBU system intermittently since 2004. During this time, he rose from economist to director of the Monetary Policy and Economic Analysis Department, and since July 2021, he has been deputy governor of the NBU. Now this position has become vacant, and the regulator is looking for a new candidate.

In addition to his work at the NBU, from September 2019 to April 2020, Nikolaychuk served as Deputy Minister in the Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine. He was responsible for macroeconomic forecasting, analytical support for economic policy decisions, and investment attraction.

He is also currently a lecturer at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and has published a number of studies and publications in the field of monetary policy and macroeconomics.
