Significant progress in ending the war: Trump makes statement after talks with Zelenskiy

US President Donald Trump said that during his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, significant progress was made in ending the war.
He said this at a joint press conference after the talks, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“We have covered, some would say, 95%, I don’t know what percentage, but we have made significant progress in ending this war,” Trump said.
To recap, Zelenskyy and Trump met in the United States to discuss a peace plan for Ukraine.
Trump and Zelensky’s meeting
on December 26, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that he planned to meet with US President Donald Trump in the near future to discuss a peace plan, emphasizing that important decisions could be made before the New Year.
Earlier, Zelenskyy presented for the first time a 20-point peace plan agreed with the United States, as well as a package of documents on security guarantees and post-war reconstruction of Ukraine. U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker said that with the White House’s participation, a peace agreement could be reached within 90 days.
According to the president, during the talks with Trump, he intends to discuss five key areas: security guarantees, the military aspect, Ukraine’s recovery, and a further action plan.
Moreover, it has been reported that before meeting with Zelenskyy, Trump called Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Their conversation lasted more than an hour, and they agreed to speak again after the meeting between Trump and Zelenskyy.
