Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot down Russian aircraft and helicopter, number of combat engagements at the front decreases – General Staff

The number of hostilities at the frontline has decreased over the past day. The military recorded 96 combat engagements, and 136 the day before, on 6 August. The Ukrainian Armed Forces also “landed” a plane and a helicopter. This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the morning report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
Over the past day, a total of 96 combat engagements were recorded. The enemy continues to be most active in the Pokrovsk sector, where almost a third of its offensive actions took place.
Yesterday, the enemy launched three missile attacks involving five rockets and 69 air strikes, dropping 110 combat aerial vehicles. In addition, it made over 5,200 attacks, 114 of which were from multiple launch rocket systems.
The aggressor carried out air strikes, in particular, in the areas of Pavlivka, Bilovody, Kyianytsia, Zhuravka, Yunakivka, Manukhivka, Mohrytsia, Ugroids, Chasiv Yar, Toretsk, New York, Kurdyumivka, Vozdvyzhenka, Oleksandropil, Grodivka, Novohrodivka, Kostiantynivka, Urozhayne, Novodonetske, Pyatikhatky, Novoandriivka and Lobkove.
Situation at the frontline
The number of attacksin the Kharkiv sector increased to three over the last day. Defence forces repelled enemy assaults near Vovchansk and Tykhy.
In the Kupyansk sector, there were five Russian attempts to advance near Petropavlivka, Kolisnykivka and towards Novoosynove.
In the Lyman sector, the enemy attacked 12 times near Novosergiyivka, Makiivka, Nevske, Torske and in the Serebryansky forest.
In the Siverskyi sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled six assaults by Russian invaders near Spirne, Verkhnekamianske and Pereizne.
In the Kramatorsk sector, the occupants attacked seven times, concentrating all their efforts near Chasovyi Yar. They also carried out two air strikes with NARs there.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy carried out 11 attacks in the areas of Pivnichne, New York, Zalizne and Toretsk. The Russian aggressor carried out 19 air strikes on Toretsk and the surrounding areas, dropping more than three dozen guided bombs.
In the Pokrovsk sector, our defenders repelled 28 attacks in the vicinity of ten different localities. Vozdvyzhenka, Zhelanne, Karlivka and Hrodivka are the main areas of occupants’ efforts. With the support of aviation, the Russians tried to force our units out of their positions.
In the Kurakhove sector, theUkrainian Armed Forces repelled five enemy attacks near Krasnohorivka, Kostiantynivka and Paraskoviivka.
In the Vremivsk sector, Russian troops made two attempts to advance from Volodymyrivka.
In the Orikhivsk sector, one firefight took place in the vicinity of Robotyne.
In the Prydniprovskyi sector, all four attacks bythe invaders failed.
In the Volyn and Polissya sectors, there were no signs of enemy offensive groups forming.
On the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions , the enemy is shelling settlements from the territory of the Russian Federation and conducting air strikes.
Enemy losses
Yesterday, the aviation and missile forces and artillery of the Defence Forces conducted 11 strikes on the areas of concentration of enemy personnel and weapons, and also destroyed two air defence systems, seven air defence systems and two ammunition depots of the occupiers.
In total, the Russian invaders suffered 1140 casualties over the last day. Ukrainian servicemen also neutralised two tanks, nine armoured combat vehicles, 36 artillery systems, four MLRS, four air defence systems, one aircraft, 81 tactical UAVs, three missiles, 59 vehicles and eight pieces of enemy special equipment. It was also confirmed that the occupiers had lost one helicopter in the previous days.
The total enemy combat losses from 24.02.22 to 08.08.24 are estimated to be
