A representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Commandant’s Office, Oleksiy Dmitrashkovsky, said that Russia’s counter-offensive to regain territory controlled by Ukrainian troops in the Kursk region has been stopped. Dmitrashkovsky said this in a commentary to the AFP news agency, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“They tried to attack from the flanks, but were stopped there,” Dmitrashkovsky said.
According to him, “the situation has stabilised, and everything is under control today.”
The representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces commandant’s office also said that there are “several thousand” Russian civilians in the territories controlled by Ukrainian troops.
“In some settlements, there are more than 100 people, 200 people, more than 500 people,” he said.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed “some minor Russian successes”.
“Russians entered one of the settlements. They started a battle for another settlement, but it ended there,” Dmitrashkovsky said.
