“Winter support: when to expect a payment

As part of the Winter Support program, Ukrainians can receive a one-time financial assistance that can be spent not only this year but also next year, until June.
According to "Komersant Ukrainian", this was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during his address.
According to him, the funds can be used to pay for utilities, purchase medicines, Ukrainian products and books, as well as for charitable contributions to volunteers and foundations that support the Ukrainian army.
To receive assistance, you need to apply through the Diia app or at Ukrposhta by December 24. After submitting the application, the money will be received within 10 days.
It is also worth noting that receiving this money does not affect the calculation of subsidies: winter support is an additional form of support.
“The funds for the program are available, and last year more than 14 million Ukrainians benefited from winter support, so this year we expect a large-scale benefit from the program as well. The Ukrainian government will fully implement the program. If additional support and funding is needed, we will provide it,” Zelensky said.
As a reminder, applications for the Winter Support program have been launched in Ukraine today.
What is known about the Winter Support Program?
Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed the government to prepare an updated comprehensive Winter Support program for the population based on the 2024 program.
The funds provided under the program can be spent on utilities, medicines, Ukrainian products, as well as postal services, books, charitable contributions and support for the Defense Forces.
The main goal of the program is to cover the widest possible range of citizens, provide assistance in the run-up to the winter season and support the coverage of basic needs, including utility bills
According to the Minister of Social Policy Denis Ulyutin, about 10 million Ukrainians will be able to receive winter assistance from the state in the amount of UAH 1,000.
Certain categories of vulnerable citizens, including lonely pensioners, will be able to receive an increased payment of UAH 6,500.
