9 April 18:29

The Czech drone manufacturer Primoco UAV has received approval to build a new facility in the city of Písek. This was reported by Radio Prague International, as cited by "Komersant Ukrainian".

The new plant will allow the company to increase drone production to 300 units per year.

How much is being invested in the project

The company plans to invest 750 million Czech korunas (approximately 30.6 million euros) in the construction.

Preparations for the project began in April 2024, and construction of the plant is scheduled to begin in 2028.

Why Písek was chosen

Primoco UAV CEO Ladislav Semetkovský stated that the acquisition of the Písek-Krašovice Airport in 2019 was a key step in the company’s development.

According to him, it was after this that the company entered the global drone market.

The new facility is intended to keep pace with the company’s growth and become a modern 21st-century production site.

What drones does the company produce

Primoco UAV develops and manufactures unmanned aerial vehicles for civilian and military applications.

In particular, the Primoco One 150 model:

  • takes off and lands fully automatically;
  • can remain airborne for up to 15 hours;
  • has a long flight range;
  • operates autonomously along pre-programmed routes.

Where these drones are used

The company’s drones are used in various fields:

  • monitoring pipelines and energy infrastructure;
  • border and coastal zone surveillance;
  • fire surveillance;
  • search and rescue operations.

Defense cooperation with Ukraine

Earlier, the Ukrainian defense industry signed an agreement with the Czech company Air Team.

It provides for the joint development of air target interceptor technologies, which could become part of broader defense cooperation between Ukraine and the Czech Republic.
