The dollar has once again reached a historic high: currency exchange rates as of March 5
5 March 08:48Ukraine has seen a sharp rise in the dollar exchange rate. The National Bank of Ukraine set the official dollar exchange rate for March 5 at 43.72 hryvnia, which is a new historic high. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the National Bank.
At the same time, on March 5, the euro exchange rate was set at 50.83 hryvnia against 50.46 hryvnia, which was set on March 4.
On Wednesday, March 4, the US currency rose sharply and set several historic highs on the cash market. According to the currency market, the dollar exchange rate exceeded 44 hryvnia in exchange offices and reached 44.75 hryvnia per dollar in some places, which is an absolute record.
What is the dollar exchange rate on the interbank market?
On the interbank currency market, the US currency also rose during the day.
At the end of trading:
- the dollar exchange rate at the close of the interbank market was 43.92 hryvnia;
- demand for currency significantly exceeded supply;
- the greatest pressure on the exchange rate was observed after lunch, when demand for the dollar rose sharply.
Dollar exchange rates in banks
Ukrainian banks also promptly updated their exchange rates.
In particular:
- at PrivatBank, the dollar could be bought for approximately 43.90 UAH and sold for 43.60 UAH;
- at Oschadbank, the purchase rate at branches was around 43.95 UAH, and the sale rate was 43.35 UAH.
At the same time, users reported on social media that some bank branches did not have dollars available at their cash desks.
