The Cabinet of Ministers has updated the rules for providing compensation to agricultural producers for humanitarian demining. This was announced in a telegram by the government’s permanent representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
Relevant changes have been made to the Procedure for the use of funds provided for in the state budget for compensation for the costs of humanitarian demining of agricultural land.
In particular, the central executive body that compiles and approves the list of territories where hostilities are (were) conducted or temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation has been changed. Now, instead of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, these powers are vested in the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine.
Also, the provisions on the grounds for compensation to agricultural producers for humanitarian demining of agricultural land have been agreed upon, along with the list of documents to be submitted to the Humanitarian Demining Center for signature upon completion of demining services.
In addition, the responsibility of the agricultural producer to comply with the deadline for opening an escrow account in an authorized bank for compensation has been strengthened.

MP Oleksiy Honcharenko said that only those farmers who actually grow agricultural products on their own or leased land are now eligible to receive compensation.
It is also possible to receive compensation for partially contaminated agricultural land, but for this purpose it is necessary to provide an official survey report from a certified operator.
Regarding the timeframe for opening an escrow account, Honcharenko clarified that instead of 5 working days, 10 will be provided. But if the opening period is violated, the application will be rejected.

In May 2024, the government launched compensation for the cost of demining agricultural land
During the program, 47 agreements were concluded to clear more than 9,000 hectares of agricultural land.
As of April 22, Ukrainian farmers have submitted 228 applications for participation in the state program to compensate for the cost of demining agricultural land, of which 191 were rejected.
