BORYVITER collection: how the Sea of Azov became the heart of SS’26 by NADYA DZYAK

In her new SS’26 collection, designer Nadia Dzyak returns to the south of Ukraine in her mind. Everything bright and sunny in her memories is connected with these places – with Berdiansk, her favorite vacation spot, where the sea became a space for solitude and inspiration, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“I came up with all of my strongest and most iconic collections while sitting on the beach in Berdiansk, which is now unfortunately occupied by Russia. Nowhere else have I felt such peace and harmony,” the designer says.
The key motif of the collection is a shell – a natural sculpture, an organic continuation of the recognizable spirals of the NADYA DZYAK brand. The spiral, going deeper, appears as a metaphor for endless movement and a return to the origins.

Berdiansk and the Sea of Azov are part of the Ukrainian landscape and the sea coast, which has long inspired artists. This season, the designer also refers to the work of the prominent Ukrainian artist Alla Horska. Her mosaic “Boriviter”, created in Mariupol and recently restored in Kyiv after the destruction caused by the Russians, has become a source of new symbolism: the rhythm and blue-sky transparent colors – unrestrained flight and forward movement – echo the spiral movement, a symbol of freedom and energy. Alla Gorska’s mosaic depicts spirals on the wings of a falcon.
The designer uses new materials and textures, so the SS’26 collection features hand-knitted elements. On knitted tops and dresses you can see shells and stones scattered on the sand in her native Berdiansk. Nadia continues to work with dynamic crossed flounces, which she lays out in the shape of a spiral – seashells. The collection also features a new detail – a basque, which the designer suggests combining with midi skirts and capri pants.

The denim line is presented in a light summer dirty jeans technique and consists of denim bombers, vests, short tops and a midi skirt with basques.
The new SS’26 collection is made in white colors, as well as in shades of apricot, lavender, blue and dusty pink. The collection features a new print – a wide stripe, which also brings us back to the nautical theme of the collection. These stripes are wrapped in elegant geometric flounces and spirals. Transparent organza dresses – the brand’s iconic code – are created in a new interpretation: multi-layered flounces laid out in color combinations resemble a mosaic from Boriviter.
“The BORYVITER SS’26 collection by NADYA DZYAK is a combination of my personal memories, Ukrainian cultural code and our brand signature, for us it is a language through which we speak to the world,” emphasizes the designer.

NADYA DZYAK is a Ukrainian clothing brand founded in 2008 in Dnipro, known for its combination of architectural forms with feminine aesthetics, as well as its transparent elements that have brought the brand international fame and recognition.
Each collection by NADYA DZYAK has its own unique features, but all of them are united by the brand’s commitment to pleated details, translucent fabrics and layered decors.
Traditionally, the brand pays special attention to the skillfulness of the hand-patterning technique of pleated details and flounces that reflect its DNA.
The main design element of the brand’s sophisticated iconic products is the skillful use of translucent fabrics that create optical illusions and the effect of weightlessness.
For many years, the brand has been working with pleated fabric, which is produced at a factory in Kharkiv, without stopping the process despite the regular shelling of the city by Russians.
