One of the two power lines at ZNPP is de-energized – Ukrenergo

One of the two power lines supplying Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has been damaged at the temporarily occupied plant.
This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo in Telegram, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
“Inspection of the line to identify the likely location of the damage will be organized as soon as the security situation allows. At present, ZNPP’s own needs are supplied via one line, which is a violation of nuclear safety requirements,” the message says.
As the company reminded, since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia NPP has lost power many times, including complete blackouts and switching to operation from station diesel generators.
Repair crews of NPC Ukrenergo are working to restore the lines that supply power to the plant in the government-controlled area, which were damaged by enemy shelling.
Zaporizhzhia NPP has been under Russian occupation since March 2022. In September, the plant completely stopped generating electricity. Russian military and military equipment are stationed on the territory of the nuclear facility. The shelling has repeatedly damaged ZNPP’s external power lines.
One of the two power lines connecting the plant to the unified energy system of Ukraine was once again disconnected due to enemy shelling on December 20, 2024.
