MP Tyshchenko allowed more freedom – night arrest instead of round-the-clock
12 May 17:39
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Dnipro has decided to change the measure of restraint for MP Mykola Tyshchenko and former police officer Bohdan Pysarenko – instead of round-the-clock house arrest, they will be under night arrest, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
According to Suspilne, the new measure of restraint will be in effect until July 12. The suspects must stay at home every day from 21:00 to 06:00.
Tyshchenko and Pysarenko are accused of unlawful deprivation of liberty of serviceman Dmytro Mazokha. The pre-trial restraint expires on May 21.
What is Tyshchenko charged with?
MP Mykola Tyshchenko is accused of unlawful deprivation of liberty (part 2 of article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) because of a clash in the center of Dnipro in June. Then a group of unidentified men in uniform attacked Dmytro (call sign Syn), a former member of the Kraken special unit, while he was walking with his child.
Telegram channels wrote that he was attacked by Tyshchenko’s bodyguards. However, the MP claims that it was a military officer who struck several blows to the investigator who was working on the search of the fraudulent bot farm and then tried to escape.
The police, reporting on the clash, wrote that unidentified men in camouflage clothing and balaclavas inflicted bodily harm on the 33-year-old man and illegally detained him. The police did not report anything about the attack on the investigator.
Eventually, the SBI notified Tyshchenko of suspicion. According to the investigation, the military man was illegally detained on his instructions. If found guilty, Tyshchenko could face 5 years in prison.
The MP’s bodyguard, Konstantin Tsubera, who is suspected of attacking the soldier along with Tyshchenko, has already entered into a plea deal with the investigation and pledged to testify.
The investigator who participated in the clash in Dnipro turned out to be a police officer from Kyiv. An internal investigation was launched against him, and later the Kyiv police fired him.
