The National Guard has created two new corps: they are headed by the commanders of Azov and Charter

The National Guard of Ukraine has created two new corps: on the basis of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” and the 13th Operational Brigade of the National Guard “Charter”.

This is stated on Azov’s social media, [ komersant] reports.

The two corps will be headed by the commander of the 12th Special Forces Brigade “Azov” Colonel Denis Prokopenko (call sign “Redis”) and the commander of the 13th Operational Brigade of the National Guard “Charter” Colonel Igor Obolensky (call sign “Cornet”).

The 1st Azov Corps includes:

  • 1st Presidential Operational Brigade “Bureviy”;
  • 12th special purpose brigade “Azov”;
  • 14th special purpose brigade “Chervona Kalyna”;
  • 15th brigade of operational purpose “Kara-Dag”;
  • the newly created 20th operational brigade “Lubart”.
