One of Ukraine’s largest graphite deposits sold for UAH 31.7 million: who is the buyer?

The Czech energy holding company Solartec, through its Ukrainian company Solartek Esco, won the auction with a bid of UAH 31.7 million and obtained a special permit to extract graphite at one of Ukraine’s largest deposits.
This was reported by nadra.info, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Czech Solartec to invest in graphite mining
The company offered UAH 31.7 million for a 20-year special permit to extract graphite ore at the Maidan site of the Burtyne deposit in the Khmelnytskyi region, which was almost three times higher than its competitor’s bid.
Another participant in the auction, Yulia Gordienko’s Optima-Resource, offered UAH 12.2 million.
The application to initiate an auction for the Maidan section of the Burtyne deposit was submitted to the State Geological Service in October 2025 by Solartek Esco LLC ( Ivano-Frankivsk), which is controlled by Czech citizensMatej Ržehák andLibor Bečica through SOLARTEC Holding A.S. (Czech Republic).
SOLARTEC Holding A.S. specializes in photovoltaics – technologies for converting sunlight into electricity using solar panels.
About the
The Maidan site is located near the village of Burty in the Shepetivka district.
According to the State Service of Geology and Subsoil of Ukraine, the site contains:
- about 25.5 million tons of ore;
- over 40 million tons of prospective resources;
- approximately 3 million tons of graphite.
This makes the Burtyne deposit one of the most promising graphite assets in Western Ukraine.
Who else mines granite
Currently, the only active graphite producer in Ukraine is the Zavallivsky Graphite group in the Kirovograd region.
In previous years, the following companies also entered the market:
Spis Ukraine LLC, part of the Onur Group, received a special permit in 2021 in the Khmelnytskyi region.
BGV Group Management — acquired two special permits in 2018–2019;
