Conscripts to be recruited to the Armed Forces without the participation of the CMC: details

The government has allowed military units to recruit recruits without the involvement of the Military Commissariat. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to information from the Of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.
From now on, volunteers liable for military service and reservists can choose a military unit for service without applying to the Military Commissariat. The list of military units whose commanders will be able to recruit volunteers will be determined by the General Staff.
Commanders of military units will be empowered directly:
- issue referrals to the MEC to determine fitness for service;
- to man combat units with volunteers willing to serve under conscription during mobilisation.
Volunteers liable for military service and reservists can also choose a military unit for service without applying to territorial recruitment and social support centres. The list of such military units will be determined by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
“The brigades have received the tools they have been asking for for a long time – to conduct high-quality recruitment, which results in targeted recruitment of volunteers. This resolution is a tool that will significantly reduce the recruitment time and ensure that everyone can join where his or her desires and skills coincide with the needs of defence,” explained the decision, the head of the Ministry of Defence, Rustem Umerov.
