Rapeseed for export: Ukraine sells more than 85% of the harvest

In 2024/25 MY, Ukraine’s rapeseed processing amounted to 0.5 mln tonnes, or 14% of the total rapeseed production.
According to the association Ukroliyaprom, 3.1 mln tons of this crop were exported (over 86% of production), "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
It is noted that the export of rapeseed oil last season amounted to 210.4 thousand tons – for $ 194 million, of which 153.5 thousand (for $ 144.1 million) were shipped to the EU countries.
At the same time, China became the leader among the countries that imported rapeseed oil from Ukraine.
The top 10 countries-buyers of Ukrainian rapeseed oil are as follows:
- China – 48.3 thsd tonnes;
- Poland – 46.1 thsd tonnes;
- Belgium – 26.5 thsd tonnes;
- Lithuania – 23.1 thsd tonnes;
- The Netherlands – 15.2 thousand tons;
- Spain – 13 thousand tons;
- Italy – 9 thousand tons;
- Bulgaria – 8.2 thousand tons;
- Germany – 4.3 thousand tons;
- Latvia – 3.6 thousand tons.
At the same time, Ukraine exported 218.5 thsd tonnes of soybean meal worth $53.9 mln. The EU countries purchased 198.9 thsd tonnes of the product, paying $46.8 mln.
