Rutte: Trump will give Putin a “test” in Alaska without a final deal for Ukraine

During the summit in Alaska on August 15, US President Donald Trump will “test” Russian dictator Vladimir Putin on his seriousness to end the war in Ukraine.
This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to a statement by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte on CBS News.
Rutte expressed confidence that full-fledged peace talks will definitely be held with the participation of Ukraine and Europe.
“And, of course, when it comes to peace talks, a ceasefire and what comes after that – territories, security guarantees for Ukraine – Ukraine should and will participate,” he said.
But during the meeting between Trump and Putin in Alaska, the Russian dictator will be tested to see if he is really committed to making peace with Ukraine.
“On Friday (it will be) important to understand how serious Putin is. And the only one who can do that is President Trump. Therefore, it is very important that the meeting takes place. It will not be the final decision. There will be no final agreement,” he explained.
As a reminder, on August 8, Trump announced that he would meet with Putin in the US state of Alaska on August 15. One of the key topics of the talks will be the war in Ukraine.
