Russian troops attack the dam of the Pechenizka reservoir in Kharkiv region

Occupants hit the dam of the Pechenizka reservoir in Kharkiv region. Traffic on the dam has been temporarily suspended in the Pechenizka community.
According to "Komersant Ukrainian", this was announced on Telegram by Pechenizka village head Oleksandr Husarov.
According to official information, as of 12:00 on December 7, 2025, traffic on the roadway of the Pechenizka dam has been completely stopped. The authorities urge citizens to remain calm and follow further updates.
“We ask everyone to be safe and refrain from traveling towards the dam,” Gusarov emphasized.
It is specified that the relevant services are assessing the extent of the damage and working to eliminate the consequences of the impact.
Pechenizske Reservoir
The Pechenega Reservoir covers an area of 86.2 square kilometers, stretches 65 kilometers in length and has a width of 300 to 3,000 meters. The depth of the reservoir ranges from 4.5 to 20 meters, and the area of its catchment basin reaches 8,400 square kilometers. The reservoir was named after the village of Pechenyhy, located 60 km from Kharkiv, near which its dam is located.
The reservoir stretches from Pechenyhy to the Starytsia River, which flows through Chuhuiv and Vovchansk districts of Kharkiv Oblast. The area around the reservoir is surrounded by pine forests that form the characteristic landscape of the area.
Not only Pechenyhy, but also a number of other settlements are located on the banks: Verkhniy and Staryi Saltiv, Prymorske, Bereznyky, Rubizhne, Martova, Metalivka, Khotomlia, Buhaivka and Molodova.
