SBU conducts searches of NABU detectives: suspicion of high treason

The Security Service of Ukraine, together with the Prosecutor General’s Office, is conducting investigative actions against certain detectives of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. According to media reports, they are accused of treason, collaboration with the enemy and involvement in corruption schemes. The NABU press service emphasized that all this is happening without a court order, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to RBC-Ukraine‘s sources, a series of searches are underway in different regions of Ukraine.

The detectives are charged with treason, illegal trade with Russia, corruption in the interests of oligarchs, etc. One of the detectives is suspected of passing classified information to Russian special services through people from the inner circle of former President Viktor Yanukovych.

Another detective, according to the investigation, betrayed the state and conducted illegal business with Russia. He has already been detained.

The NABU press service confirmed that searches were taking place on July 21, but emphasized that the actions of the SBU and the Prosecutor General’s Office were being carried out without a court order.

“On July 21, NABU employees are being searched by the SBU and the Prosecutor General’s Office without a court order. We are currently investigating all the circumstances. Details will follow later,” the Bureau said.
