SBU officer with summonses sent to the frontline

The Security Service of Ukraine has suspended Ilya Vityuk, head of the Department for Counterintelligence Protection of the State’s Interests in the Field of Information Security, from his duties. This is the SBU officer whose assets were recently disclosed by Slidstvo.info journalists, according to Komersant ukrainskyi https://www.komersant.info/

The journalists, having analysed Vityuk’s declaration, reported that his wife bought an apartment for UAH 12 million during the war, and that the market value of the apartment is about UAH 20 million. At the same time, while preparing the story for publication, the journalist was attempted to be served with a summons by TCC employees – he suspects that this was done on the instructions of the SBU official involved in the story.

Now the SBU has suspended Vityuk from his duties.

“For the time being, the head of the Service, Vasyl Malyuk, has suspended the head of the Department of Counterintelligence Protection of the State’s Interests in the Field of Information Security (DKIB), Vityuk, from his duties,”

– the SBU press service toldInterfax-Ukraine on Tuesday.

The press service clarified that, according to the SBU head’s decision, Vityuk will serve in a combat unit of the DKIB directly at the frontline during the inspections.

“He is currently seconded to this unit and today he left for the area of combat operations,” the press service said,
