SMS with an “appointment”: Ukrainians warned about a new fraudulent scheme
8 April 08:19
Fraudsters are massively sending text messages with the phrase “You have an appointment”, clicking on which the user grants access to all the data in their phone. This is reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“Fraudsters have launched a new scheme – they massively send SMS with the text “You have an appointment”. The message deliberately does not indicate where the appointment is for, so that users click on the link in the message out of curiosity,” the CDC said.

After clicking on the message, thieves can gain full access to the user’s phone: personal data, photos, passwords, and banking applications, the CPA explained.
“In no case should you follow suspicious links from SMS from unknown users, enter your data on unknown websites, and block the sender of such messages,” the Center for Countering Disinformation urged.

Earlier, it was reported that fraudsters use fake video circles on Telegram to lure money or spread phishing links.
