Ukrainian startup Pleso Therapy, which has developed an innovative marketplace for online search for psychotherapists, has announced that it has raised $1.2 million in investment. This was reported by [Kommersant] with reference to Forbes.
The funds will be used to scale the business in the European Union, develop AI-based personalization tools, and expand the team.
Both specialized venture capital market players and public figures took part in the investment round. In particular, financial support was provided by TA Ventures, a venture capital fund headed by Victoria Tigipko, Vchasno Group, a product IT holding company owned by Mykola Paliyenko, and Ukrainian boxer and world champion Oleksandr Usyk, who acted as a business angel.
The team plans to use the funds raised to further expand its presence in the European market, particularly in Germany, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic States. The company will also invest in improving the user experience, integrating with HR platforms, and creating a mobile application.
Investments from Usyk and support for innovation
Oleksandr Usyk’s participation in the investment round attracted special attention. According to the startup’s representatives, Usyk already has experience supporting Ukrainian technology projects through the ICLUB business angel club founded by TA Ventures. His involvement in the development of the mental health platform symbolizes public recognition of the importance of psychological well-being, especially during war and protracted crisis.
TA Ventures, for its part, recognizes the potential of Pleso Therapy as one of the most dynamic Ukrainian startups in the digital health sector.
“Mental health is a new challenge for Europe, and we are happy to support a technological solution that was created in Ukraine but has global potential,” commented Victoria Tigipko.
What is Pleso Therapy?
Pleso Therapy is a digital mental health platform that automates the selection of a therapist to meet the needs of a client. The algorithm is based on machine learning and takes into account psychological needs, language preferences, previous therapy experience, traumatic experiences, etc.
The service is already available in Ukraine, Poland, and Romania. According to the team, more than 80% of the company’s revenue comes from EU clients, which is evidence of successful international expansion. Users can choose a specialist, sign up for a session, and pay for it directly through the platform.
Pleso Therapy’s clients include Intellias, Ciklum, Uklon, N-iX, and MacPaw.
How Pleso Therapy works
- The user fills out a questionnaire (request, psychological state, language preferences, previous therapy experience, etc.)
- An algorithm based on artificial intelligence selects the most relevant specialist.
- Registration for a session, payment, and the consultation itself take place online – in the secure environment of the platform.
The service offers both individual consultations and corporate mental health programs.
Growth dynamics and plans
Over the past year, Pleso Therapy has demonstrated rapid growth: sales have tripled, and the total number of sessions has exceeded 150 thousand. More than 20 thousand clients have already used the startup’s services. In the corporate segment, the company cooperates with such well-known players of the Ukrainian market as Intellias, Ciklum, N-iX, Uklon, MacPaw, etc.
Pleso Therapy continues to push the boundaries of online psychotherapy, offering a quality service adapted to the needs of the modern user. Investments from powerful market players confirm the company’s credibility and open up new opportunities for scaling.
