In Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, certain parts of the city will be blocked. This is due to the city’s preparation for defense. This was stated by the head of the Pokrovsk MVA, Serhiy Dobryak, on the air of the United News telethon, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
“About 12 thousand people remain in Pokrovsk. The authorities urge them to leave because of the destruction of infrastructure and the plan to close certain parts of the city for defense purposes.
In a commentary for Suspilne. Donbas, Dobryak explained that there will be no complete blocking of Pokrovsk for entry and exit. Only certain areas will be blocked as the city prepares for defense.
“Fortifications are being built in Pokrovsk, and we are already entering the city, and certain areas of the city will be blocked, so please leave these areas, not enter or leave the city. Several echelons have already been built in the city, which will partially block the streets and neighborhoods of Pokrovsk,” explained the head of the Pokrovsk MVA.
He also reminded that the echeloned defense of the Pokrovsk community has been built since 2022.
As of October 30, Dobriak said, 11,900 people, including 55 children, remained in Pokrovsk. He noted that the pace of evacuation has slowed down, but families with children are still leaving.
“The infrastructure is 80% destroyed. Power supply is available in 60% of Pokrovsk, it is absent in six settlements and the town of Rodynske. The wounded are taken to Dobropillia, we have family doctors and a city hospital. There are 325 wells in the city, including 9 points of free drinking water. The utility company also delivers water, and UNISEF has been helping to deliver water for two weeks,” Dobryak added.
Russian troops are about 6.7 kilometers away from Pokrovsk. In the city itself, critical infrastructure has been destroyed by 80%.
The head of the MVA said that there will be no general heating season in the city. In Pokrovsk, 60% of consumers still have electricity. It is absent in six settlements of the community and the town of Rodynske.
The city hospital is operating in a limited mode. Wounded people are taken to Dobropillya. There are currently no problems with drinking water and food.
