Another naval parade canceled in Russia

This year’s Navy Day in Vladivostok will be held without a ship parade. As the press service of the Pacific Fleet Ensemble (PFE) reported on Sunday, July 13, the holiday “still promises to be bright and solemn.” The program includes a wreath-laying ceremony and a concert with the participation of the Pacific Fleet’s creative teams.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
The Navy Day in Russia is celebrated on the last Sunday of July and in 2025 falls on July 27. Parades of warships on Navy Day have been held annually since 1939, except during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). in 2024, the part of the parade held in Kronstadt was canceled in St. Petersburg due to the threat of an air attack. As reported, the ships of the Northern Fleet had already arrived in St. Petersburg, but a few days before the parade, they went back to their base.
The situation with the main naval parade, which is scheduled to take place on Navy Day in St. Petersburg, remains uncertain. Reports of its cancellation, which appeared in a number of Russian media, have not yet been officially confirmed. Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov responded to the question during a briefing by saying: “We will inform you in due time what events will take place as part of the celebration.”
