Ukraine will be hit by a cyclone with rain and sleet: weather forecast for May 9

On Friday, May 9, a cyclone will form over the southern part of Ukraine. It and its atmospheric fronts will cause rainy weather in most regions. This was reported by weather forecaster Natalia Didenko, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

According to her forecast, there will be wet snow in the Carpathians on May 9. Heavy precipitation is possible in the central regions, Odesa and Mykolaiv. Volyn, Rivne, and almost everywhere in the western regions will be without significant precipitation during the daytime.

Air temperatures are expected to be quite uneven throughout the day. In the West, the North and a large part of the central regions of Ukraine, the temperature is expected to be 10…14°C, in the South – 12…16°C, in Zaporizhzhia it is expected to reach 18°C, and in the Crimea it will warm up to 17…20°C. In the eastern regions, it will also be quite warm – 16-21°C.

On May 9, moderate to heavy precipitation is also expected in Kyiv. The air temperature in the capital will fluctuate between 10 and 11°C.

“In the future, wet weather will dominate in Ukraine, nights will remain cold and there is a possibility of frosts during clearing. But during the day it will warm up by at least a few degrees,” the forecaster predicted.

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, on May 9, the weather in Ukraine will be shaped by a cyclone moving from Romania towards the southeast. It will bring rains, and even sleet is expected in the highlands of the Carpathians at night. At the same time, precipitation is unlikely in the western regions of Ukraine, where clearings are expected, and in some places even morning frost.

In general, most regions will be cloudy with clearings.

At night, it will rain in the southwest, as well as in Kirovohrad, Cherkasy, and in some places in Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions.

During the day, precipitation will spread to almost the entire country, except for the western regions. In the central and southern regions, the rains may be significant.

In the southeast, thunderstorms are possible in some places.

Wind – mainly from the north, at a speed of 5-10 m/s.

Air temperature:

At night: 2… 7 ° C, in the northwestern regions – frosts on the ground to -5 ° C.
During the day: 8… 13 °С, and in the east and southeast – up to 18 °С.

Carpathians:

At night – rain with sleet, temperatures from 0 to -5 ° C.
During the day – without significant precipitation, the air will warm up to only 1…6 ° C.
