Government revises assistance to families of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes – how payments will change for the first time since 2014

The Ukrainian government has decided to almost double the monthly pension payments to disabled family members of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes and establish a new mechanism for their calculation. This was reported by the Ministry of Social Policy, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports.
What has changed
Starting December 1, 2025, the amount of the monthly survivor’s benefit will be UAH 12,971. If there are several disabled people in the family, the amount will be divided between them.
Previously, these payments ranged from UAH 5,000 to UAH 8,000 depending on the number of dependents and have not been revised since 2014.
In addition, the supplement will now be paid not only to the survivor’s pension, but also to old-age or disability pensions, if they are granted under the mandatory pension system.
Who is paid
According to the Ministry, 92 family members of 76 Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred currently receive a survivor’s pension.
The changes were adopted against the backdrop of a broader government reform of social benefits
The day before, the President signed a law increasing the childbirth allowance to UAH 50,000 and introducing new types of state support for families with children.
The increase in payments to the families of the Heavenly Hundred Heroes was the first large-scale change in social guarantees for this category in the last decade.
