11 July 2025 14:32
For the first time in Ukraine, the production of advanced oncology drugs will be localized on the basis of the Medical Procurement of Ukraine (MPU). This is reported on the Facebook page of the State Enterprise “Medzakupili”, "Komersant Ukrainian" informs
“During the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 in Rome, we signed a historic agreement with the international pharmaceutical company Roche Ukraine on the localization of the production of innovative oncology drugs in Ukraine. For the first time, our state-owned enterprise becomes a full-fledged partner of the global leader in the development of innovative medicines!” the statement said.
As part of the investment agreement, the international Swiss company Roche will supply medicines to Ukraine in the “in bulk” format – in a form ready for packaging. The final packaging, labeling and transfer of drugs to patients will take place on the basis of the branch of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine “Medsnabzhenie”.
It is noted that this agreement paves the way for a significant reduction in the cost of oncology drugs, which will allow more patients to be treated. Roche estimates that over 5,800 people will be able to receive the necessary medicines under this investment agreement within five years.
The Ministry of Health will procure medicines for two of the most common oncological diseases in the country:
- Atezolizumab (Tecentriq) for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer
- Pertuzumab trastuzumab (Fesgo) – for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer.
It is expected that the first Ukrainian patients will receive locally produced drugs in 2027.
