How the power will be cut off on December 3: “Ukrenergo has published schedules

3 December 00:26

Today, on December 3, there will be round-the-clock power outage schedules throughout Ukraine. This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports

The restrictions will cover both households and industrial consumers.

What blackouts will be on December 3

According to Ukrenergo, the following restrictions will apply during the day

  • from 00:00 to 23:59 – from 0.5 to 3 queues for household consumers in all regions of Ukraine;
  • from 00:00 to 23:59 – separate restrictions for industrial enterprises.

In other words, the schedules will be in effect all day, and each region will use its own queues and duration of outages.

Power engineers emphasize that the schedules can be adjusted, so they advise to follow the updates of regional power distribution companies.

Why are blackouts being introduced?

The reason remains the same: the consequences of massive Russian missile and drone attacks that have damaged the country’s energy infrastructure in recent weeks.

The attacks resulted in:

  • reduction in available generation capacity;
  • emergency shutdowns of power units;
  • increased deficit during peak hours;
  • disruption of key substations.

As a result, the power system is operating under strain, and controlled outages help to avoid large-scale accidents and complete blackouts.

What consumers are asked to do

“Ukrenergo calls on Ukrainians to

  • follow the schedules of local regional power distribution companies – they can change several times a day;
  • save electricity, especially during the hours of highest consumption (morning and evening);
  • not to turn on everything at the same time when the power comes on to avoid overloading the grid.

Power engineers emphasize that every kilowatt of savings helps to stabilize the system and reduce the duration of outages.

Where to find your outage schedule

“Ukrenergo urges Ukrainians to follow the updates on the official pages of regional power distribution companies in their region. They publish current schedules and changes in outages.

Information for each region is updated in social networks on the official pages of the regional power companies:
