Zelensky named the terms of Fedorov’s possible appointment as defense minister

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he expects Mykhailo Fedorov to be appointed defense minister as early as next week.

This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing the head of state’s evening address.

According to Zelensky, Fedorov gave a report today that essentially concerned Ukraine’s defense plan.

“We discussed strategic issues. I expect that next week, parliamentarians will support Mykhailo for the position of Minister of Defense of Ukraine,” the president said.

He added that Ukraine has an action plan for defense, as well as for diplomacy. However, which plan will be the main one for this year depends on partners and pressure on Russia.

“It depends solely on the determination of our partners which plan will be the main one for the year. The war must be ended. To do this, pressure must be put on Russia. Those who speak the language of ballistics and “Shahids” will understand nothing but force. We are working to ensure that the world acts effectively,” Zelenskyy concluded.

Recall that on January 2, Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that he had offered the first deputy prime minister, Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov, to head the Ministry of Defense.

The very next day, on January 3, the president offered Ukraine’s Minister of Defense Denys Shmyhal the position of First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy.
