Zelensky nominated Shmyhal for the post of Energy Minister

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has proposed that the government appoint Denys Shmyhal as the first Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy of Ukraine.

This is reported by "Komersant Ukrainian" with reference to the President’s Telegram.

“I met with Denys Shmyhal. Thank you for the systematic work in the Ministry of Defense and the processes that have been intensified to ensure the defense of our country. This is exactly the kind of systematic approach that is needed now for the Ukrainian energy sector,” Zelensky said.

According to him, it is important that after each Russian strike, Ukraine can quickly restore the destroyed and that the development of Ukrainian energy is stable and sufficient for Ukrainian needs.

“We have held consultations with Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, and I count on parliamentarians to support this approach and the position of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy for Denys Shmyhal,” the president said.

To recap, according to the head of state, First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mykhailo Fedorov may head the Ministry of Defense.
