Zelensky listens to military on the course of the Kursk operation

on April 3, Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited Chernihiv and Sumy regions and met with soldiers of brigades performing missions in Sumy and Kursk regions of Russia. Zelensky said this in an evening video address, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports
According to the head of state, as for Chernihiv region, it was decided to allocate additional funds to support border communities and those on the frontline.
“Next week, government officials must decide on this: additional funds – tangible funds – for each such community for the most urgent tasks,” Zelensky said.
He also met with the soldiers of the brigades performing tasks in Sumy and Kursk regions of Russia.
“The Airborne Forces – the 80th Brigade, the 82nd Brigade, the Marines – the 36th Brigade and all those who perform tasks in the Kursk region, who defend our state, who defend our Sumy region from the constant desire of Russians to enter Ukraine from these directions. I would like to thank all our soldiers, all our sergeants, and every officer who are fighting absolutely heroically in these areas. Since August last year, our units have been fighting in enemy territory – this is one of the greatest Ukrainian results during this war,” Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President discussed with the commanders of the units in this area the main needs, additional support, supply of equipment, drones, and operational issues.
Zelenskyy visited the command posts of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade named after Rear Admiral Mykhailo Bilynskyi and the 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade of Bukovyna.
The commander of the 36th Separate Mechanized Brigade Mykyta Vitek reported on the operational situation in the Kursk region, the tasks performed by the brigade and the intentions of the Russian troops.
He informed about the brigade’s experience in the use of fiber-optic drones and cooperation within the Drone Line project.
The President also spoke with the unit commanders. In particular, they talked about increasing the state order for officer training.
Zelenskyy thanked the soldiers for their service and awarded them with the Orders of Courage of the II and III degrees and the Medal for Military Service to Ukraine.
“Thank you for what you are doing in the east of our country, in the Donetsk sector and in the Kherson region. Thank you also for protecting Sumy region, for this operation. We highly appreciate your service. Take care of yourself, and thank you again for the preservation of Ukraine,” the Head of State said.
The commander of the 82nd Air Assault Brigade Volodymyr Hutsul reported on the course of hostilities in the defense line of his brigade and informed about the tactics of North Korean soldiers.
The President also talked to company and battalion commanders about how to promote the development of unmanned systems. The soldiers expressed their proposals for training, including increasing the time for unit coordination.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the defenders for everything they do for Ukraine and awarded them with the Order of Courage, III class.
