A man opened fire in Cherkasy over lilacs picked by children

In Cherkasy, according to police reports, a man opened fire in one of the city’s neighborhoods because children had picked lilacs.
The police are investigating the circumstances of the incident, Zoya Vovk, a spokesperson for the regional National Police Headquarters, told Suspilne , as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".
The incident occurred on May 9 in one of the districts of Cherkasy, Zoya Vovk said:
“No calls were received on the 102 hotline. Police officers discovered the information while monitoring social media and entered the details into the unified database. An investigation has now been launched. Preliminary reports indicate the conflict arose because children were picking lilacs near a private residence.”
The man tried to catch up with the minors, and when he failed, he took a gun out of the house and started shooting, the spokesperson commented. According to her, no one was injured. “Law enforcement is currently identifying the offender. A legal assessment of his actions will be provided after all the circumstances have been established,” Zoya Vovk added.
