More boys are born in Ukraine than girls, says Dmitry Govseev

Approximately 8,000 children are born each year at the Perinatal Center in Kyiv . Last year , more boys were born than girls, but the first baby born at the Center in 2026 was a girl. This was reported in an interview with the YouTube channel
Every year, the center’s doctors deliver about 7,800 babies, the doctor says.
“In general, yes, more boys are born, and, if you believe the superstitions, during wartime, mostly boys are born.
But this year, our first baby was a girl. I want to believe that there will indeed be peace this year. And this girl, who was born at one minute, will live in a peaceful country,” he added.
According to the director, the Perinatal Center of Kyiv continues to develop and implement new approaches, and there are many changes ahead for both medical professionals and future parents.
