Russia’s massive attack left residents in 9 regions without power: a statement from the Ministry of Energy

As a result of a massive attack by the Russian Federation on energy infrastructure facilities, some consumers in nine regions of Ukraine have been temporarily left without power. These regions include Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kyiv, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Poltava. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
The ministry noted that energy workers are operating in emergency mode, and restoration work is continuing around the clock.
Which regions of Ukraine lost power after the Russian attack
According to the Ministry of Energy, on April 16, due to Russian shelling of energy infrastructure, some consumers in nine regions of the country were temporarily left without electricity.
These regions include:
- Dnipropetrovsk
- Donetsk
- Kyiv
- Zaporizhzhia
- Mykolaiv
- Odesa
- Kharkiv
- Sumy
- Poltava.
It is in these regions that the effects of strikes on power grid facilities have been recorded.

Will there be power restrictions?
As of April 16, the Ministry of Energy noted that no restrictions are expected.
At the same time, Ukrainians were urged to follow official information from their regional power companies, as they will publish updates on power supply, emergency repairs, and possible temporary solutions should the situation change.

The Ministry of Energy also appealed to consumers to use electricity sparingly, especially during peak consumption hours—in the morning and evening.
The ministry emphasized that this helps reduce the load on the power grid and contributes to its more stable operation amid the consequences of massive attacks.
