Territorial recruitment centers directly affect the work of farms. People are afraid to go to work, there is a shortage of workers in villages, and agribusinesses risk being left without staff at the height of the season. Oleksandr Povorozniuk, an agrarian and director of Agrofirma Pyatikhatska LLC, told the "Komersant Ukrainian" YouTube channel in an interview.
According to him, the current mobilization system does not motivate people to fight, but only scares them. As a result, both the frontline and the economy suffer, including the agricultural sector, which ensures the country’s food security.
“A busified citizen is good for 3-4 weeks, maximum 2 weeks. He will run away from the training center anyway. And running away from a training center is one thing. Another thing is when they flee from the front. And then we have enemy breakthroughs in one direction or another,” he added.
Povorozniuk also emphasized the growing social tension between the military and civilians.
“How do we do it? Ordinary people are at war, while the rich are walking around. This creates enmity,” he said.
He believes that the state should change its approach to the military.
“The military must be protected, the military must be respected. They should be rotated more often,” the farmer emphasized.
Povorozniuk also drew attention to the financial component of the service.
“The next problem is financial support. Military families should live in dignity,” he emphasized.
He believes that without proper social and financial protection of military personnel, the state risks losing both people at the front and workers in the rear.
