McDonald’s expands its network: a new restaurant opens in Kyiv

A new McDonald’s restaurant has opened on the left bank of Kyiv. Following this opening, the number of restaurants in Ukraine has increased to 122. Another 15 restaurants remain closed due to security restrictions. This was reported by the company’s press service , according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

The new restaurant was opened by McDonald’s Ukraine Ltd., the Ukrainian division of the international McDonald’s corporation. The restaurant has 121 seats in the dining room and another 128 on the terrace, with a total area of almost 500 square meters.

Jobs and safety

The opening of the new restaurant has created more than 70 jobs. The company also notes that it employs young people aged 16 and older.

The establishment operates under special safety rules introduced during the war. During an air raid alert, service is temporarily suspended, and employees and visitors move to the nearest shelter. In this case, the underground parking lot next to the restaurant can serve as such a shelter.

Network development

The first McDonald’s restaurant in Ukraine opened in Kyiv on May 24, 1997. Since then, the chain has become one of the largest in the fast food segment in the country.

According to the YouControl analytical system, in the first nine months of 2025, the company’s revenue in Ukraine amounted to UAH 15.6 billion, which is more than 26% higher than in the same period a year earlier. Net profit grew by almost 10% and reached UAH 1.4 billion.

Plans for the coming years

The company plans to continue expanding its network. In 2026, McDonald’s intends to open 11 new restaurants in Ukraine. In 2027–2028, the pace of development may increase to approximately 15 new establishments per year.
