The National Bank of Ukraine has set the official exchange rates for Tuesday, April 28, 2026. The dollar and the euro have risen in value again, while the hryvnia has weakened against both major currencies. This is evidenced by updated data on the regulator’s website, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
According to the NBU’s official exchange rate, as of April 28, the U.S. dollar is worth 44.0894 UAH, the euro is worth 51.7610 UAH, and the Polish zloty is worth 12.1939 UAH. Compared to the previous banking day, all three currencies have risen in value.
Dollar exchange rate as of April 28
On Tuesday, April 28, the National Bank set the official dollar exchange rate at:
1 U.S. dollar — 44.0894 UAH
Rounded, this is 44.08 UAH per dollar. Compared to Monday, April 27, the dollar rose in price by approximately 8 kopecks. The previous day, the official exchange rate for the U.S. currency was 44.0039 UAH.
For comparison, the dollar’s all-time high in 2026 was 44.16 UAH, recorded on March 13.
Euro exchange rate as of April 28
The official exchange rate of the European currency as of April 28 is:
1 euro — 51.7610 UAH
Rounded, this is 51.76 UAH per euro. Compared to the previous banking day, the euro rose by approximately 22 kopecks. On Monday, April 27, the official euro exchange rate was 51.5484 UAH.
The euro’s all-time high in 2026 was 51.91 UAH and was recorded on April 22.

Zloty exchange rate as of April 28
The Polish zloty also appreciated. As of April 28, the NBU set the following exchange rate:
1 Polish zloty — 12.1939 UAH
Rounded, this is 12.19 UAH per zloty. Compared to the previous day, the Polish currency gained about 4 kopecks.
The zloty’s rise is important for Ukrainians who work, study, or frequently travel to Poland, as well as for businesses that conduct transactions with Polish partners.

This means that the National Bank does not fix the exchange rate at a single level, but at the same time smooths out excessive fluctuations to avoid sharp spikes.
What is the exchange rate on the cash market
As of the morning of April 27, the cash exchange rate for the dollar in banks, according to the Ministry of Finance, averaged 43.75 UAH for buying and 44.25 UAH for selling.
On the black market, the dollar was bought at an average of 43.86 UAH and sold at 43.90 UAH.
The euro was bought in banks at an average of 51.22 UAH and sold at 51.92 UAH.
On the black market, the euro traded at approximately 51.58 UAH for buying and 51.77 UAH for selling.
